RED South West has landed more than £42m of office refurbishment work after securing contracts to deliver flagship schemes in Bristol and Bath.
Investor BlackRock and development manager LS Estates has picked the firm to deliver the major overhaul of Portwall Place in Bristol, alongside an £8m refurbishment of Pinesgate West in Bath for WPV Developments.
Portwall Place is the larger of the two schemes and is expected to become the South West’s biggest commercial office refurbishment.
Existing Portwall Place building
Designed by Buckley Grey Yeoman, the seven-storey, 150,000 sq ft office redevelopment will provide upgraded Grade A workspace and Bristol’s largest rooftop terrace.
The project also includes façade repairs, 7,500 sq ft of new terraces and green roof areas. The all-electric building is targeting EPC A, BREEAM Excellent and Nabers 4.5 ratings, with completion scheduled for the end of 2027.
In Bath, RED South West will deliver the £8m refurbishment of Pinesgate West, which is set to become the new headquarters for engineering consultant Buro Happold.
Planned Buro Happold HQ building
Working to designs by AWW Architects, the scheme involves replacing the existing façade with a high-performance building envelope, alongside PV panels, EV charging, cycle storage and a new external terrace. The project is targeting EPC A and BREEAM Excellent.
