Muse picked to spearhead Bletchley station quarter revival

Milton Keynes City Council has picked Muse to lead a major regeneration around Bletchley station for new homes and shops as the town prepares for the arrival of East West Rail.

The nationwide regeneration specialist has signed a development deal with the council to prepare a masterplan covering major development sites on both the eastern and western sides of the station.

Working alongside Milton Keynes Development Partnership, Muse will bring forward plans for a mixed-use neighbourhood featuring homes across a range of tenures, including affordable housing, build to rent and private sale, alongside retail, active ground-floor uses, community facilities and upgraded public spaces.

The appointment follows confirmation of a £22m investment package for a new eastern entrance to Bletchley station, including £17m from the Government’s Growth Mission Fund and up to £5m from Milton Keynes City Council.

For Muse, the appointment strengthens its growing pipeline of station-led regeneration projects, adding Central Bletchley to schemes including Stevenage Station Gateway, Bristol Temple Quarter, Arden Cross, Stockport Exchange and Salford Central.

Public consultation and design work on the masterplan will now begin before detailed development proposals are brought forward.
