Persimmon appoints new group operations director

Persimmon Homes has announced the appointment of a new group operations director.

Darren Dancey has been promoted to the role of group operations director, having previously served as divisional operations director and then South West operations director at the housebuilder.

Before joining Persimmon in April last year, Dancey held managing director roles at Places for People.

He also previously held directorships at Crest Nicholson and Countryside Partnerships.

“We’re pleased to announce that Darren Dancey has been appointed group operations director at Persimmon Homes, reporting to Liam Scott, deputy UK managing director,” the housebuilder announced on social media this week.

“Based from our Wessex office, Darren will work closely with the group technical director and chief commercial officer to drive operational excellence and ensure technical and engineering solutions across all sites are efficient, cost-effective and aligned with our commercial and technical standards.”

Last month, Persimmon announced the appointment of Julian Roper as group construction director, who will succeed Andy Fuller in April when Fuller retires.

Also in January, Phil Moir was made construction director at Persimmon Homes Cornwall & West Devon.

Gillian Baird was appointed commercial director at Persimmon Homes North Scotland this month.

Persimmon reported a strong performance for 2025, with its group order book rising to £1.17 billion (FY2024: £1.14 billion),

Bosses said the group is poised for steady growth in 2026, with home completions rising 12 per cent to 11,905 units in 2025, up from 10,664 the year before, surpassing market expectations.
