Specialist construction and engineering firms Kilnbridge and Bachy Soletanche have joined forces to launch UrbanCore, a “strategic partnership” designed to simplify the delivery of complex urban construction projects.

By combining expertise in ground engineering and structural works, UrbanCore provides clients with a single, integrated solution to offer greater certainty on programme and cost.
It has been created in response to the technical, logistical, and commercial challenges of building in dense city environments.
While the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, the partnership focuses on commercial developments and basement-led schemes, where multiple interfaces can lead to delays or cost uncertainty.
Its scope includes demolition and dismantling, such as material reuse, foundations, reinforced concrete and steel frames, and complex basement and structural works.
Projects already taking advantage include One North Quay in Canary Wharf.
Kilnbridge chief executive officer, Owen Dannatt said: “UrbanCore brings together two specialists who understand how risk builds up between packages on complex urban projects.
“By integrating teams from day one, we remove those gaps and give clients greater certainty on programme, cost and delivery from ground to structure.”
While Bachy Soletanche managing director, Tamas Kaltenbacher called it an “exciting new partnership”.
