Global consultancy Accenture has launched a capital projects business focused on the planning, optimisation and delivery of large-scale infrastructure schemes, as demand for A.I data centres rise.

Accenture Construct is organised around five lines of global business: data centres, utilities and communications, transportation, advanced manufacturing and process industries and will be responsible for supporting companies and governments with specialist projects across these sectors.
The business will also build on Accenture’s existing capital projects capabilities and its cumulative investment of $2.5 billion (approx. £1.8 billion).
The venture comes at a time when investment in A.I data centre construction, energy transition and long term infrastructure replacement is on the rise, driving demand for new projects at scale.
Following this boost in investment, Accenture aims to capture growth from where demand is most high.
The market for these services has been estimated by Accenture to be worth $260 billion (approx. £196.2 billion), and is expected to go up by 7.5 per cent annually to $348billion (approx. £262.6 billion) in 2030.
“Global demand for critical infrastructure capital programs is accelerating at the same time as AI is fundamentally changing how projects are planned, delivered and operated,” said Julie Sweet, chief executive and chairwoman at Accenture.
She added: “Together, these shifts are significantly increasing our market opportunity for the capital project services provided by Accenture Construct, which combines deep capital project expertise with global scale, built to give owners a new level of visibility and certainty.”
During FY25, Accenture generated $70 billion (approx. £52.8 billion) in revenue.
Adam J. Shaw, chief executive at Accenture Construct said: “Capital projects haven’t lacked expertise; they’ve lacked alignment on shared success outcomes. Owners assemble exceptional teams, but accountability is often dispersed across the delivery ecosystem,”
“Accenture Construct brings those capabilities together under one accountable partner, combining deep delivery expertise with AI and data to help owners make better decisions, reduce uncertainty and deliver better outcomes.”
