Newcastle-based procurement body Prosper has launched the race for places on a new £500m national framework to deliver building safety remediation work.
The four-year agreement is built around turnkey delivery, with a standalone principal contractor taking responsibility for complete projects from surveys through to passive and active fire safety works.
Alongside the flagship principal contractor lot, Prosper is also seeking suppliers for specialist packages covering:
- Building safety consultancy, including fire risk assessments, compartmentation surveys and fire door inspections.
- Passive fire protection works, including fire doors, compartmentation and fire and smoke dampers.
- Active fire protection works, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, sprinklers, smoke control systems and rising fire mains.
The framework will be split into six regions covering the North East, Yorkshire and North West, Central, South East, South West and Wales.
Prosper plans to appoint up to six suppliers in each regional sub-lot for the specialist packages, while principal contractors will compete for places on the separate turnkey framework. Suppliers can secure a maximum of three lots across the programme.
The framework will be open to housing associations, councils, NHS trusts, education providers, police, fire and rescue services and charities, with work awarded through direct call offs or mini competitions.
Tenders close on 4 September, with framework awards due later that month before the agreement goes live on 13 October.
