Paul Burchell has taken on the role of pre-construction director for the firm’s build sub-division, overseeing project planning within the company’s portfolio.

Prior to STRABAG, Burchell had worked as a senior QS at Kier Group from the mid-1990s to early 2000s, before returning to the company in 2024 as senior pre-construction manager and remained in the role until May.

In a recent social media post, Burchell said:Today marks the final day of my second stint of working at Kier Group. I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone I’ve worked with over the last couple of years, some of whom were there 25 years ago when I first worked at Kier as a QS.

“Kier continues to go from strength to strength and I wish you all, all the very best for the future.

Burchell also held senior pre-construction manager positions at both Willmott Dixon, between 2019-2024, and Thomas Vale Construction from 2012-2016.

STRABAG UK’s build sub-division managing director (technical), Ian Burford said he was pleased to welcome Burchell onboard.

Burford added: “In his role, Paul will support the team in securing strategically important projects for STRABAG UK’s build sub-division, whilst ensuring a consistent approach and compliance across various business units.

“His experience working across many local and national frameworks will also open further growth opportunities for the business.”
