A Midlands-based mechanical and electrical (M&E) contractor has reported a “resilient, healthy and robust” performance, delivering steady growth and strong financial foundations despite project delays across the year.

Headquartered in Nottinghamshire, Derry Building Services reported turnover of £80.1 million for the year ended 31 August 2025, down slightly from £84.3 million in 2024, as some projects were pushed back.
Despite the dip in revenue, pre-tax profit edged up to more than £1.8 million from £1.7 million, reflecting stable underlying trading performance.
Net assets strengthened to £23.7 million, up 3.8 per cent year on year, while cash at bank rose to £28.9 million from £26.6 million, underlining a solid balance sheet position.
The company, which designs, installs and maintains M&E systems across sectors including education, commercial, and leisure, said its focus on client service had helped it retain and grow its clients.
Despite delays on some projects, Derry said it entered the new financial year with “confidence”.
