Persimmon appoints new MD to lead key region

Persimmon Homes has announced the appointment of Stuart Philips as regional managing director for its Welsh office.

Philips has worked with the firm for more than a decade, initially as head of land for Persimmon Homes West Wales from 2010-2022, and has held various director positions with the company, his latest being MD.

He will continue to serve as managing director, alongside overseeing the East Wales region.

Working closely with other members of Persimmon’s leadership team, he will support the group to deliver new homes across the area.

Speaking on his promotion, Philips said he was delighted to be taking on the role.

He added: “Persimmon has a strong and established presence across Wales, and I look forward to working closely with colleagues in both West and East Wales as we continue to deliver high-quality new homes for local people.

“Our focus will remain on identifying the right opportunities, strengthening our partnerships, and continuing to play a positive role in the communities where we build.”

While Persimmon’s regional chairman, Stephen Cleveley, added: “Stuart’s appointment is testament to the strong leadership he has shown in West Wales and the success he has helped deliver for the business.

“His experience, relationships and understanding of the Welsh housing landscape will be invaluable as we continue to build on the progress being made across both regions and support the delivery of much-needed homes across Wales.”

The housebuilder reported a strong financial start to the year, with its order book growing to £2.46 billion following prior investments.

The group is on track to deliver pre-tax profits of £462 million and 12,000-12,500 home completions, with more than half of private homes, and almost all housing associations homes, already secured.
