Permasteelisa chief executive Liam Cummins is now the group’s deputy chairman, as part of a strategic shake up within the business.

The façade specialist announced this week Cummins will work alongside executive chairman Peter Bacon, who is also a partner at Altas Holdings, the US private equity firm that acquired Permasteelisa five years ago.
Cummins, who joined the business in January 2023, said his new role will be to drive growth across Permasteelisa’s four operating regions – Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East.
It is part of a strategic move to offer design, manufacturing and engineering services as a “regionally focused” entity, with each region headed up by a handpicked team.
Jalal Fitoury is chief executive in Europe; Lance Howard in North America; while Sean Cooney remains executive general manager in Asia; and Alessio De Mitri retains the executive GM role in the Middle East.
“With our new structure and leadership teams firmly in place in our regions, my attention now turns to strategic growth to ensure we remain the leading international façade specialist,” said Cummins.

Back in January, the UK arm of the Italian contractor reduced its pre-tax loss by 40 per cent, to -£6.8 million (2023: -£11.2 million).
Meanwhile, however, its operating loss stood at £5.6 million, compared to £11.7 million the year prior.
At the time, bosses said losses were due to the ongoing impact of distressed projects – despite “resolving issues around legacy projects” and the “positive performance on some jobs” in the 2024 financial period.
It was also in January Permasteelisa announced the acquisition of US cladding subcontractor Benson Industries, aimed at expanding its operations across key markets in North America.
