New finance director ‘excellent addition’ to Clark Contracts

Scottish construction firm Clark Contracts has announced the appointment of a new finance director.

Before joining Clark Contracts, Mark McPeake was at City Facilities Management for more than nine years, latterly as finance director.

A qualified accountant with more than 25 years’ industry experience, McPeake brings extensive finance and senior management expertise from a range of sectors.

He previously also held finance roles at Certas Energy and City Link.

In his new role, McPeake will lead financial strategy at Clark Contracts, overseeing financial governance and reporting, and supporting the business’ growth objectives across construction, refurbishment and fit out sectors in the UK.

He said: “I’m delighted to join Clark Contracts at an exciting time for the business. With positive cash flow, a resilient balance sheet and a healthy order book, my focus will be on strengthening financial governance and using our strong position to support investment and outstanding delivery for our clients.”

Revenue for the year ended 31 October 2024 jumped 21 per cent to more than £106.5 million, from £88 million the year prior, underpinned by a pre-tax profit of more than £2.2 million, up from £1.3 million in 2024.  

The Paisley-headquartered business ended the year with net assets worth £18.1 million (FY2024: £16.4 million), supported by an improved cash position of more than £10.29 million (FY2024: £7.9 million)   

First founded in 1978, today Clark Contracts delivers projects totalling more than £130 million across the private and public sector each year, operating from offices in Paisley and Edinburgh.

Framework partnerships include with Mitie, SSE, Crown Commercial Service, Government Property Agency, and DfWP.

Managing director Gordon Cunningham said McPeake is an “excellent addition” to the leadership team at Clark Contracts, boosting resilience across the business.
