A global real estate investment group has launched a £2.5 billion debt platform aimed at supporting the construction sector in the UK and Ireland.

Over the next three to five years, QuadReal Property Group will focus on direct lending for construction, transitional, and stabilised loans, particularly in high-growth sectors like multifamily, student housing, and industrial.
Headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, the real estate investment, development and operating company has $94 billion of assets under management.
Its new initiative aims to meet growing demand in the real estate development space while filling a “gap” in the current lending market.

Building on the success of its North American debt platform, QuadReal sees significant potential in the UK and European markets, where it is eyeing further expansion.
“Expanding our lending capabilities in the UK and European markets provides us with the opportunity to further diversify our portfolio and gain exposure to the attractive risk-adjusted returns these markets have to offer,” said Jonathan Dubois-Philips, international real estate president at QuadReal.
By 2029, the company plans to allocate 10-20 per cent of its global debt portfolio to the UK and European markets.
