Back in February, managing director James Dowds assumed the role of executive chairperson and Louise McClelland was appointed group CEO.
Assuming the role of chief executive had been a natural progression for McClelland, who had been working in an advisory capacity to the Board over the last seven years, latterly as executive director.
She had also spent more than 20 years leading large-scale business transformation across privately-owned and private equity-owned companies throughout the UK and Ireland.
Having led the company for more than 12 years, Dowds oversaw the group’s growth from electrical contractor to national contractor.
He described McClelland as an “outstanding leader” with the right experience, energy and values to steer the group through a new era.
McClelland and Dowds’ appointments were part of an 18-month strategy to build a leadership team to drive long-term sustainable growth at Dowds.
