The infrastructure giant will be responsible for servicing brick tunnels, covered ways, girders and cable infrastructure.

It will also provide assistance with inspection planning and assess and asset health governance.

Additionally, having started last month, the contract with TfL may be extended through to 2034.

M Group rail and aviation managing director, Mike Evans said: ”This award is a significant milestone for [the business] and highlights the expertise and commitment of our team.

“We’re proud to play a leading role in maintaining the safety and reliability of London’s transport network, supporting millions of daily journeys.”

Outside of this, M Group has delivered projects for various UK networks, including  contracts with Southern, Western, and Wales railways.

M Group’s latest accounts for FY2025 show revenue reached £1.37 billion, with transport generating £352 million.

The division achieved this thanks in part to contract renewals with Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire councils, despite a “static” rail market during Network Rail’s transition to CP7.

The firm said the deal illustrated M Group’s “technical capability”.

Adding: “M Group looks forward to continuing to work with TfL in alignment with its strategic priorities for resilient infrastructure, to ensure smoother, safer journeys for people across the city.”

M Group was approached for additional information, including the contract value.
