M Group has appointed a new managing director for its energy infrastructure division, strengthening its ability to deliver complex engineering and infrastructure projects across the UK.

Andrew English will lead the division, bringing extensive leadership experience across the infrastructure, utilities, and energy sectors in both the UK and Australia.
Most recently, English served more than two years as executive vice president and chief operating officer at Skanska.
He had previously spent nearly nine years there in roles including managing director.
His career also includes a year as managing director at AtkinsRéalis, three years in Australia at John Holland, four years as commercial director at Balfour Beatty, and seven years as commercial director at Alfred McAlpine.
In his new role, English will continue to support the UK’s transition to net zero.
This includes through modernising critical energy assets and integrating technologies such as battery storage, EV infrastructure, and solar power.

He said: “I’m delighted to join M Group as the business grows and transforms in a changing market, particularly at such an important time for the energy sector.

English is the latest senior addition following the appointment of Richard Scott as M Group’s first corporate affairs director.
He will lead the development of corporate affairs, following its rebrand in April last year.
For the period ended 31 March 2025, revenue at M Group reached £1.37 billion.
The Energy division generated £295 million in revenue, while M Group’s Water business led with £425.2 million.
Telecoms generated £306.5 million, while Transport reached £352 million.
M Group’s order book also grew to £8.8 billion last year, from £6.4 billion in FY2024.
