Property and construction consultancy Gleeds has announced a major leadership evolution, with a new chief executive officer (CEO), operations head, as well as UK managing director among the changes.

David Johnson, currently chief operating officer, will step up as chief executive officer at the beginning of April.
Johnson, who has been with Gleeds for more than 40 years, succeeds Graham Harle, who will remain on the Gleeds Group Board as a non-executive director.
Brian McArdle, UK managing director, will take on the role of chief operating officer, while Andy Ellis, previously global head of energy, assumes the UK managing director position.
To support its next phase of growth, Gleeds is also establishing a new management Board.
New members include Dean Purvis as chief growth officer, Hayley Cameron as chief business development officer, Dave Corbin as chief project delivery officer, and Benjamin Whitworth as general counsel.
The changes are designed to position the firm for continued growth across data centres, energy, infrastructure, and defence.

Johnson said: “The strength of Gleeds has always been matching expertise with opportunity. I look forward to unifying our global business, focusing on growth in our strongest markets, and delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients.
“Together with the new management Board, we are ready to build on Gleeds’ proud legacy.”
For the year ended 31 December 2024, revenue increased by 26 per cent to more than £108 million, compared to £86 million the year prior, underpinned by an operating profit of more than £3.7 million (FY2023: £2.6 million), generating an operating margin of 4 per cent (FY2023: 3 per cent).
Bosses said the result was mainly due to a strong income performance as the company focused more keenly on framework contracts, adding public sector work, which is the company’s main source of revenue, is secure for the foreseeable future.
