Dalcour Maclaren boosts water sector capability with Geomap acquisition

Utilities and infrastructure sector-focused consultancy Dalcour Maclaren has acquired Geomap, a specialist geomatics and land surveying consultancy.

Based in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire, Geomap brings more than 15 years of experience providing surveying and geospatial data to water and wastewater companies across the UK.

Recognised for its expertise in topographic, utility, and drainage surveys, as well as laser scanning and 3D modelling, Geomap delivers survey-grade data to support design, construction, and asset management.

The acquisition enhances Dalcour Maclaren’s geomatics capability at a pivotal time as water companies begin their AMP8 investment programmes aimed at improving resilience and reducing environmental impact.

Dalcour Maclaren chief executive officer, James Neil emphasised how the addition of Geomap’s specialist land surveying expertise strengthens the company’s technical capabilities, positioning it to provide even greater support for clients’ complex projects.

I’m delighted that we’re welcoming Geomap into the Dalcour Maclaren OneTeam,” he said.

In its latest financial results for the year ended 31 December 2024, Oxfordshire-headquartered Dalcour Maclaren reported robust growth across all key financial metrics, with turnover rising 19.4 per cent to £39 million, pre-tax profit up 20.3 per cent to £3 million, and net assets increasing to £9.1 million.

Its performance was driven by growing demand for its utilities and infrastructure services, amid evolving legislation and the increasing complexity of projects in the sector.
