Conquip’s purchase of Pro Mech strengthens the group’s position in the UK market, particularly in excavation support.

As a result, the group broadens its equipment offering to include hydraulic braces, frames, trenching sheets, and sheet piles, used to support structures during construction, maintenance, and repair.

The £9.8 million-turnover firm also extends its regional reach to seven locations across the UK.

Pro Mech’s 70 staff, along with its Hampshire and East Sussex operations will continue, with managing director, Matthew England remaining in his role.

Daniel Critchley, managing director at Conquip, said: “This acquisition allows Conquip to continue on its growth journey by enhancing its technical excavation support offering to the UK market.

“Our businesses and teams hold strong, shared customer-centric values and I know both companies will operate with the same dedicated and talented team.”

England added: “This partnership allows Pro Mech to increase its reach through Conquip’s existing infrastructure, capabilities, regional location set up, and established relationships with Tier One and Tier Two contractors, while ensuring that Conquip can further deepen relationships with the water and utilities contractors.”

Founded in 2003, Conquip is three years older than its latest acquisition and provides equipment solutions and services from design and manufacturing to sales, rental, delivery, and after-sales support.

With a presence in the UK, USA, New Zealand, and Australia, the company has contributed to a number of major UK infrastructure projects, including Hinkley Point C, Thames Tideway, and HS2.
