Bowmer + Kirkland has sealed a £50m contract with the Department for Education to redevelop Cramlington Learning Village in Northumberland.
The scheme will see demolition of nine ageing buildings on the site, making way for a new three-storey admin and teaching block alongside a modern learning complex with improved access, expanded parking and landscaped grounds.
The secondary school, which teaches more than 2,000 pupils, was picked for the Government’s School Rebuilding Programme back in 2022.
While some parts of the academy are relatively new, others are over 50 years old.
B+K’s north east and Scotland team will lead the rebuild with offsite specialist Innovaré Offsite supplying structural insulated panels and H. Malone & Sons delivering M&E works.
Site preparations start this month with main works to follow through the autumn.
