Phil Harrison joins the Board in July and will serve on the audit, nomination, and remuneration committees.

He will also become chairman of the audit committee ahead of Ian McHoul’s retirement in November.

Bringing extensive finance and strategy experience across construction and other sectors, Harrison has spent the last 10 years as CFO at the £10.7 billion infrastructure giant Balfour Beatty.

He steps down from this role this week as Myles Westcott takes over.

Before joining Balfour Beatty, Harrison was group finance director at Hogg Robinson Group, a corporate services firm, and VT Group, a US-based defence and national security contractor.

VT Group, formerly British company Vosper Thornycroft, was acquired by Babcock International in 2010 and later became a private US entity owned by A&M Capital Partners.

Additional experience includes a non-executive role at Dowlais Group from 2023 to 2026, where Harrison chaired the audit committee.

Bellway chairman, John Tutte said: “We are delighted to welcome Phil Harrison to our Board and look forward to working with him as we continue to drive the company forward.

“His breadth of experience, together with his financial expertise in the listed company environment, will be of great benefit to Bellway.

“We would also like to thank Ian McHoul for his unwavering commitment to the business during his nine-year tenure and in particular his significant contribution as chairman of the audit committee.

The housebuilder remains well-positioned for growth, targeting £320-330 million in underlying operating profit, with forward orders of 5,311 homes worth £1.55 billion.
