The incoming business, secured for £1, holds net assets worth around £1.5 million, and becomes part of Amcomri’s ‘Buy, Improve, Build’ strategy to strengthen its engineering services offering across the UK and Ireland.

GridCore entered a conditional business purchase agreement to buy the division, whose services include electrical installations, condition reports and electrical equipment testing.

Additionally, for the year to 31 March 2025, the compliance arm generated revenue of £5 million.

Bosses hope the addition of the compliance and testing division will mean “significant opportunity” for Amcomri’s expansion, while boosting its capabilities within the electrical infrastructure market.

Amcomri, a manufacturing and engineering firm, specialises in purchasing and developing SME businesses, with emphasis on two main areas: embedded engineering and B2B manufacturing.

To date, it has finalised 19 acquisitions, and in its 2025 financial accounts, turnover climbed 22.1 per cent to £70.9 million, up from £58 million the year prior.

Key growth drivers included the purchase of M&E firms EMC Elite Engineering Services and Electronix, its first international acquisition.

Coupled with strong demand across the power, aerospace, and energy sectors, along with several long-term defence contracts, Amcomri’s latest acquisitions also contributed to a 145.1 per cent increase in PBT and a 19.3 per cent rise in adjusted EBITDA.

Chief operating officer at Amcomri, Mark O’Neill said: “The acquisition of the business and assets from Enerveo’s National Compliance and Testing division is an opportunity to develop a key strategic target area of the group, as well as having the potential to broaden our service offering into specialist electrical-infrastructure markets, as we continue to roll out our proven ‘Buy, Improve, Build’ model.”

O’Neill was recently appointed COO, with the firm poised for growth supported by a strong acquisition pipeline for 2027, and an expected earnings boost from increasing rail electrification work.
