Permasteelisa reports 60% growth in specialist façade aftercare work in last 12 months

Façade specialist Permasteelisa Group has reported its FaçadeCare business has grown by 60 per cent in the last 12 months.

Permasteelisa Group deputy chairman Liam Cummins.

The specialist aftercare team of 10, in London, preserve the entire building envelope through maintenance and protection services, and to date has worked on more than 400 projects across the UK, including Grade I and II listed buildings.

The façade specialist also announced this week chief executive Liam Cummins is now the group’s deputy chairman, as part of a strategic shake up within the business.

Cummins will work alongside executive chairman Peter Bacon, who is also a partner at Altas Holdings, the US private equity firm that acquired Permasteelisa five years ago.

It is part of a strategic move to offer design, manufacturing and engineering services as a “regionally focused” entity, with each region headed up by a handpicked team.

Jalal Fitoury is chief executive in Europe; Lance Howard in North America; while Sean Cooney remains executive general manager in Asia; and Alessio De Mitri retains the executive GM role in the Middle East.

Fitoury said: “For decades, Permasteelisa Group has been trusted to preserve the façades we design and build.

“A façade represents up to 30 per cent of a building’s total construction cost, so extending its lifespan is crucial.

“In response to a growing demand for specialist aftercare, FaçadeCare allows us to offer our technical expertise, resources and experience to all building owners and managers.”
