Forterra Group’s chief financial officer is due to step down from the role after 20 years with the business and its predecessor organisations, amid a strong growth period for the company.

Ben Guyatt will be leaving the firm to pursue new endeavours, but will remain in the post until October as an official search for his successor is now underway.
Prior to Forterra, Guyatt held various positions at Hanson UK, his most recent being finance director of its building products division.
Neil Ash, chief executive at Forterra, said: “On behalf of myself and the Board, I would like to thank Ben for his strong and loyal contribution to Forterra over many years.
“He has played an important role in both establishing the group and its listing in 2016, as well as in the group’s continued growth and development since then. We wish him well in his future endeavours.”
The construction materials supplier reported a 12.1 per cent rise in revenue to £386 million for the year ended 31 December 2025 (FY2024: £344.3 million), supported by a recovery in brick market share.

Its adjusted EBITDA also grew by 18.5 per cent to £61.6 million, though statutory EBITDA decreased 10.6 per cent due to exceptional costs tied to the exit of non-core businesses, Formpave and Bison Bespoke Precast, costing £6.7 million.
Speaking of his time at Forterra, Guyatt said: “It has been a privilege to serve as CFO of Forterra. I am proud of what we have achieved and believe that Forterra is well-placed for future success.
“I remain fully committed to supporting the group over the coming months to ensure a seamless transition.”
