Renew: What consistent annual growth looks like

Renew will release its latest results early next year. Before that, let’s review its financial performance over the last five years.

While operating profit has climbed annually, revenue also increased every year, culminating in sums exceeding £1 billion in 2024 and 2025.

That upward trajectory has also largely been the pattern for a decade. Despite some fluctuation, the same is broadly true for the former.

Supporting that momentum, group equity has grown annually from £120.4 million in 2020 to £241.1 million last year – a symmetric percentage difference of 66.78 per cent in five years.

Furthermore, net assets have never depreciated in nearly a decade.

While the former metrics indicate strong sector activity, income and earnings, the latter is a signal to investors that Renew is a company that retains value despite – or perhaps because of –  market forces.

While not quite predictable, its annual growth is at least consistent and therefore more attractive.

Revenue and profits in construction are oftentimes fickle, while net assets and liquidity can be used to change direction, reinvest, and adapt.

The group has executed multiple acquisitions, including Emerald Power in October last year, PWR-X, and more recently Electricity Distribution Engineering Services (EDES).

These were funded by a 63 per cent cash flow conversion, with Renew spending £134.4 million on its expansion.

Boosting Renew’s specialist high-voltage electricity capabilities, the move unlocks growth opportunities in the £60 billion UK power transmission and distribution market.

In a recent statement, the group said it “continues to evaluate” a pipeline of new acquisitions.

For the six months to 31 March 2026, Renew reported a record group revenue of £588.9 million, supported by £33.4 million in operating profit, the latter up 4.4 per cent on the previous HY.

Its order book grew to £945 million in the same period, giving bosses future confidence.

Renew Holdings is trading on the London Stock Exchange. Over the last 12 months, its share price has ranged from 772.00 to 978.00, with a total market volume of 371.161 on 29 July 2026.

FY2020 £620.3 million £32.8 million £120.4 million
